Services · Calculate Revenue from Charging Time
Calculate revenue lost due to slow loading times:
—how much does a slow website cost?
You can calculate the cost of a slow website using your own figures: orders or requests per month × average value × the improvement in load time × a factor. Enter your figures below to get a range per month and per year.
If your site is too slow, EQwise can also make it faster.
That factor ranges from 0.26 to 0.76 and is derived from two published case studies.

The LCPLCP The time it takes for the largest visible element of a page to appear on the screen. from PageSpeed InsightsPageSpeed Insights A free tool from Google that measures page speed and provides tips for improvement., mobile.
2.5 seconds is the threshold below which Google rates a page as good.
Fill this in to see the payback time.
The range comes from two measured cases: Vodafone turned a 31% faster LCP into 8% more sales, Swappie turned a 55% faster LCP into 42% more mobile revenue. That is 0.26 to 0.76 percent revenue per percent faster LCP. Your site is neither of them: treat this as an order of magnitude to weigh an investment against, not as a forecast.
How does the tool calculate?
The tool performs its calculations in two steps. First, it determines how much faster your page will become: (current load timeLoad time The time it takes for a page to become visible and usable. − future load time) / current load time. Then, it convertsConversion The moment a visitor does what you hope for, such as calling, filling out a form, or making a purchase. that into revenue: orders or requests × average value × improvement × factor.
Load time here refers to LCP (Largest Contentful Paint): the moment when the largest visible element on the page is ready. “Load time later” is set to 2.5 seconds by default, which is the threshold below which Google considers a page to be good. You can adjust this value.
If you also enter the costs, the tool will display a payback period as a range in weeks, from fastest to slowest. If your load time is already at or below 2.5 seconds and “later” won’t be any lower, the tool will indicate that your site is already under 2.5 seconds.
Where does the factor come from?
From two published Core Web VitalsCore Web Vitals Three Google metrics that indicate how fast and user-friendly a page is for visitors. case studies:
- Vodafone (2021, A/B test): A 31% faster LCP resulted in an 8% increase in sales. Ratio: 8 / 31 = 0.26.
- Swappie (2021, before and after, over three months): a 55% faster LCP resulted in 42% more mobile revenue. Ratio: 42 / 55 = 0.76.
Why do you get a range instead of a specific number?
Two cases don’t make a rule. One involves selling a mat in an A/B test, the other shows mobile revenue before and after the improvement—and your industry, audience, and pages may respond differently than those two companies. That’s why the tool calculates using the lowest and highest factors and displays the range in between.
Consider the range as a lower and upper limit when evaluating an investment. It is not a prediction, nor is it a guarantee for your site.
Where do I measure my charging time?
For “current load time,” use the LCP on mobile from PageSpeed Insights. Measure a page that matters, such as your product page or request page, rather than just the homepageHomepage The first page of a website, which you see when you only type in the domain name..
By way of comparison: according to the HTTP Archive Web Almanac 2025, 62% of mobile pages load their main contentContent All content on your website, such as text, images, and videos. within 2.5 seconds. That means more than a third do not meet that threshold.
We’ll make your existing website faster
If the calculation results in an amount you don’t want to pass up, you can have EQwise build your website faster. We’ll start with the website you currently have.
First, we use a mobile device to identify where the slowdowns are occurring—on the pages that drive your revenue or leadLead Someone who has shown interest and left their contact details, for example via a form or a phone call. generation. Then, we address the biggest issues: optimizing code and images, configuring cachingCaching The temporary storage of a ready-made version of a page, allowing it to be displayed faster. properly, and removing unnecessary pluginsPlugin An extension you add to WordPress for extra functionality, such as a form or a translation.. Finally, we measure again and compare the before-and-after results, using the 2.5-second LCP benchmark as our standard.
We saw just how much speed could be gained when we built a new site for a training provider: nine pages became nearly fifteen times lighter. On a phone using 4G, the site was usable in an average of 1.0 s, compared to 6.0 s on the old site. On a desktop, the time went from 4.5 seconds to less than half a second. For an existing site, the improvement depends on what’s currently causing the slowdown.
The cost and duration depend on your site. After the free scan, you’ll receive a proposal with a price and timeline.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work without a webshop?
Yes, enter the number of inquiries per month and their average value. The two case studies measure sales and revenue, not inquiries. Therefore, treat the outcome for a service provider as a rough guide.
How reliable is the outcome?
The outcome is only as reliable as the assumption behind it. The factor is derived from two cases and says nothing with certainty about your specific website. That is why the tool provides a range. If you measure your own orders or inquiries after an improvement, you will have your own factor instead of a borrowed one.
What is a good load time?
Google considers an LCPLCP The time it takes for the largest visible element of a page to appear on the screen. of 2.5 seconds or faster to be good. That is why this is the default value for “future load timeLoad time The time it takes for a page to become visible and usable..” If your current speed is much higher, the calculated gain will be greater. If you are already below that threshold, the tool will report it—which is also a useful result.
